Brief and Introduction:

A contemporary residence articulated through a layered brick facade that balances solidity and porosity. The design reinterprets traditional brick craftsmanship into a modern language, creating a dynamic interplay of light, shadow, and depth while maintaining privacy within an urban context.

Innovative Features:

  • Woven Brick Jaali: A sculptural facade element that creates visual depth and a constantly changing shadow pattern

  • Layered Envelope Design: Combination of solid mass and perforated skin enhances both aesthetics and performance

  • Framed Vertical Void: The balcony cut-out acts as a visual relief and spatial pause within the mass

Sustainability and Green Design:

  • Climate-Responsive Jaali: Reduces direct solar gain while allowing ventilation and diffused light

  • Thermal Mass Efficiency: Brick construction stabilizes indoor temperatures across seasons

  • Reduced Energy Load: Optimized daylight penetration minimizes artificial lighting requirements

  • Low-Impact Material Palette: Exposed brick reduces need for additional finishes and maintenance
